The School of Geosciences is dedicated to teaching, research, and service in the fields that promote observational skills, an understanding of data and maps, and an awareness of the interconnected systems that make up the planet. Geoscientists play an important role in protecting the planet by studying it, learning from it, and predicting what the future will bring.

The general admission requirements for the various entry routes are as follows:
SSSCE Candidates: To be admitted to the BSc. in Geoinformation Science programme, SSSCE Candidates should have Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Core Science/Integrated Science or Social Studies; For students with science background, any three elective subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry are required. For Students from General Arts background, a candidate will be required to have a) Elective Mathematics and Geography, and any one from b) History, Government, Economics.
WASSCE Candidates: WASSCE Candidates should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Core Science/Integrated Science or Social Studies For students with science background, any three elective subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry are required. For Students from General Arts background, a candidate will be required to have a) Elective Mathematics and Geography, and any one from b) History, Government, Economics.
In addition, SSSCE and WASSCE Candidates should have at least a grade D and C6 in Social Studies, respectively.
Foreign Applicants
Mature students’ entry avenues to tertiary education provide opportunities for people who could not do so earlier in their lives to further their education at the tertiary level after some years in the workplace (preferably, the formal workplace). Such applicants should normally not exceed 5% (for Public Tertiary Educational Institutions) and 20% (for Private Tertiary Educational Institutions) of the total admissions of an institution in a given academic year. The applicant must:
Candidates with HND/relevant professional or diploma certificates who obtained 2nd Class lower and above / distinction and a strong pass in all related programs such as Geoinformation Science, Sciences, Agriculture, Forestry/Natural Resources, Climatology, Meteorology, Geography will enter at level 200. Those with HND/Diploma in other relevant areas other than the above will enter at level 200 if successful at an interview.
